The epic sequel to the original shoot and loot borderlands is here!
First of all just to get this out of the way, yes there are millions and gazillions of millions of guns. No joke. Even more than the original borderlands game.
The story line is decent and is set a few years after the events of borderlands one and it features completely new characters though, you do meet some of the characters from borderlands one. It is about a vault (again) though this time you are trying to stop handsome Jack from opening it. The characters (classes) are:
- Zero the assassin (my personal favorite) has the ability to vanish for a few seconds.
- Salvador the gunzerker, He can dual wield weapons and send the enemy into mayhem!
- Axton the Commando (Engineer) can deploy turrets!
- Maya the siren, the Mage of Borderlands 2, can ‘lock down’ an enemy
There is a new class coming out (in the form of a DLC) called the necromancer class, it has some abilities such as bullet rebound and other aim assist features, in my opinion this is a completely nonsense class and bullet rebounds are just for cheats and novice players but one of the official developers (Jonathan Hemingway) stated:
“I want to make, for the lack of a better term, the girlfriend skill tree. This is, I love borderlands and I want to share it with someone, but they suck at first person shooters”
And how could we not mention Tina? You would think the characters in this game would be a bit insane, but this? Tina takes insane to a whole new level.
There is also the annoying robot claptrap from borderlands 2. Some people say he is funny but i find him annoying. (More annoying then Nolan North’s voice acting.)
ARGH!! AN MMO’S WORST NIGHTMARE! HANDING IN QUESTS!! In borderlands 2 you still have to find the quest givers and hand in the quests! Can’t you just send a quest giver a text saying “Completed” or something like that???
The co-op in this game is rewarding although (like any typical MMO) it is best to play this game with people of your own level.
Aah, the barrels, Borderlands 2 has a variety of barrels including frost, toxic and slag (multiplies damage) Who new blowing up barrels was so much fun?
I Find the art style of this game brilliant and it adds a great feel to the game. At first i was really pessimistic about the art style but now i think the art style makes the game more vivid. Borderlands simply wouldn’t be Borderlands without the unique art.
This game is brilliant and i would recommend this to any FPS player wanting a bit more lootin’
